For this part of my brief I will be looking at how the stage and college set-up for the fashion show. What needed doing. These are the photos I took while at the college fashion show, I took quite a few so here are the best ones.
So here are my images:
I will start by looking at how other people set -up buildings or places really for events.
I typed into Google: 'Setting up an event' and this website came up -
It was very helpful when looking at what goes into setting up an event.
You have got to think about a lot of things, but the first thing you have to do is plan and design you ideas.
" -Developing an idea
- -A step-by-step approach
- -With a little help from your friends
- -Test your ideas
- -Decide on a location
- -Choose a date and time
- -Taking care of the pennies
- -Will anyone sponsor you?
- -Safety first
- -Working with vulnerable adults and children
- -Insurance"
- Next you have to choose your event.
- " -Getting people in the door
- -Coffee morning
- -Bingo event
- -Market stall event
- -Library event"
Then you have to promote your event.
- " -Poster to promote your event
- -Poster templates
- -Talk to the press
- -Writing your press release
- -Pick up the phone
- -TV and Radio"
- Getting started
- "Developing an idea
- An event is a great way of encouraging people to check if they are entitled to Pension Credit in a friendly environment. This checklist covers everything you will need to consider.
- A step-by-step approach
- Plan your event one step at a time. Before you start thinking about ideas, consider the following:
- -How many people will attend?
- -When is your event?"
- You also have to think about how people are getting there and if there is a bus route that goes passed or through, if people will have difficulty finding the place if they are driving or walking.
- You should also go through any Health and Safety issues, and go through the budget to make sure that you are not over.

So here are my images:
Here are the set up pictures:
This is the stage as it was being set-up. They were testing out lighting positions for where the models will be posing.
They had this design on the screens to make sure that they were working and that you could see the picture properly.
There were main highlighted spots for where the models would stop and pose. There was all along the back of the stage, then the middle of the stage and then right at the end in the center and each side.
Then they had the stage on the screens so that they could see where it needed to be pointed so that you could see all the models.
There were people who sat in the crowd so that the techies could see where everyone would be sat and make sure that no ones head was in the way of the camera.
This is the lighting being set up.
They tested the micro phone out to make sure that everyone could hear.
The lighting was positioned.
This is where the models will be posing.
This was the dancers rehearsing, making sure they knew how wide the stage was and where they will all be positioned.
How we set the studio up for portrait shots of the models
Me and my friends set up the lighting for the model photos hoot in one room, and then I asked them to stand in the light so I knew how it would fall on clothing and skin.
This was the light used for those shots. There is another slightly brighter light to but it is just out of shot.
This light was used for close-up clothing shots.
This is where the models would stand to get the best light.
This is my friend testing out the box lighting for the close -ups.
We used a black cloth for the background and hung it over a bookcase.
Health and safety, we taped down the wires.
Again testing out the box lighting.
Used more tape to keep the wires down because it kept unsticking.
This was used for the head shots of the models.
There are both lights for the full length shots.
Here are the catwalk pictures:
These were some of the dancers on before the fashion show.
Action shot.
This was one of the main pieces of clothing I had to photograph. We were given to designers and we had to take pictures of their outfits.
This was one of the outfits.
I love the way the cape is flowing in this shot.
This is the other model I had to photograph, the same designer also did another dress which can be seen later on.
This is just a dress that I liked the look of so I took a picture of the back of it while it was all spread out.
These are also just more items of clothing that I liked.
More dancers but I really like this shot.
This is a really pretty outfit that I liked so I took pictures of both the back and front.
This is the other dress from the same designer as before.
Here is Rowan with her model, Rowan is the designer.
Here is Paris with her model, again Paris is the designer.
The main camera settings I used for the catwalk shots were:
Camera on- TV
ISO- Auto
Shutter Speed- 1/160
Here are the close up pictures I took:
This is my favorite dress of the day.
The camera setting I had for these shots were:
Camera on- Manual
ISO- 800
Shutter Speed- 1/60
Aperture- 5.6
